According to the Fayette County sheriff’s officials, the rapper, whose real name is William Roberts, was in his Bentley on Highway 279 Wednesday, when a deputy stopped him for a window tint violation.
The deputy said when Ross opened up the window, he smelled marijuana and later found five rolled marijuana cigarettes.
That is when deputies said Ross was arrested.
“Will you have to make any accommodations for him in the jail because of his celebrity?,” Channel 2’s Tom Jones asked Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb.
Babb said: “Well, we look at everybody on a case-by-case basis. We classify anybody in the jail on how we need to handle it, so we look at that as well.”
The sheriff said Ross could bond out Wednesday night. Otherwise, he will go before a judge Thursday.
